Sleep Disorders

Sleep Apnoea is characterised by pauses in breathing or very shallow breathing.  Often the person is unaware of it but their partner reports snoring and pauses in breathing.  Excessive daytime sleepiness and fatigue may result.  Its best to contact your GP if you feel this is an issue for yourself.

Restless Legs Syndrome is characterised by uncomfortable sensations in the legs or arms at night.  This can disrupt sleep and lead to not getting a restful sleep.  The condition is treatable with medication but can also be associated with iron deficiency.  Its best to contact your GP if you feel this is an issue for yourself.

Delayed Sleep phase disorder is a circadian rhythm disorder.  The body clock pushes sleep back until the early hours of the morning and people find it very difficult to wake up early in the morning.  Its best to contact your GP if you feel this is an issue for yourself.
